Looking For An Easier Way To Divorce?

Divorce can be a confusing, emotionally draining experience. Fortunately, in situations involving spouses who are willing to work together to resolve disputes, the divorce process does not have to be expensive, time-consuming or contentious.

As an experienced divorce lawyer who does a great deal of non-contested divorce work, I understand the benefits a non-contested filing can offer, including reduced expense and emotional toll. I will help guide you through this process and give you real ownership of your experience in this difficult time.

The Non-Contested Divorce Process

In a non-contested divorce, you and your spouse agree how to divide property, handle custody of the children, and determine child and/or spousal support. Even in a very amicable situation, an attorney can only represent one of the parties. My client would meet with me, discuss what has been agreed to, or what they would like to have agreed to, and then I draft the paperwork. Once the paperwork is drafted, I meet with my client again for review and then forward it to the other party for their signature or further negotiation. Once we have an agreement that both parties are satisfied with, I will file the paperwork with the court and make sure the process to finalize your divorce goes smoothly.

With a non-contested divorce, neither party has to appear in court or be served with paperwork at home or at work.

Do you want a non-contested divorce but are having trouble communicating with your spouse? Mediation can help you work through your issues. The mediator will help the parties communicate to work through the legal aspects of the divorce. Mediators are neutral third parties and cannot submit paperwork to the court because they cannot represent both parties.

I am also a trained divorce mediator, so I understand every step of this process from the perspective of the mediator and attorney. If you are looking for a mediator in St. Charles County, please contact me.
